Newtown and District Automobile Club brings back the HOLRUS!
This event was first run as a Road Rally by Derek Holloway and Alvin Russell.
Final Results available HERE
Historically the event was run as a road rally for many years.
Targa Rallies are a new category introduced by the MSA in 2013.
The event involves driving tests held entirely on private land with either a transport or regularity section linking them up via the public highway.
The tests are timed to an average of 30mph and can be held on any type of surface using either stately home driveways, forest or farm tracks, car parks or fields.
The cars taking part can be a completely standard road car or for the more competitive crews they can use a road rally car.
A Targa Rally consists of short driving tests, similar to what you would find at an Autotest event, and is open to beginners. Tests are run on private lanes or yards, with mixture of tarmac, concrete, gravel, mud and grass. There could be any number of tests set during the day. Cars will usually start at one minute intervals and they must stop astride the finish line (same finish procedure as Autotests).
This event will be open to NADAC club members only, so whether you are new to motorsport or belong to another club, come along and join our Club to have a great inexpensive days sport.
You’ll find our membership form on our contacts page. Once you have joined, you will receive text messages letting you know when entries are open. Please note that the membership fee is non refundable.
